How to: Easy Cord Ghost Cushion Cover

You know me, I love a seasonal craft, especially as we head into the cosy months, so this year I've filmed this tutorial on how to make a rather adorable spooky cushion cover. 

The supplies are relatively easy to come by, and chances are you have some of them lying around already, so it shouldn't be a costly project, and the results are definitely worth any small investment you do have to make! 

Here's some thoughts about the supplies I've suggested:

The Cushion Cover

I went for a grey cushion as my background, to give the effect of a hazy autumn night, but you could absolutely brighten this up by using an orange one, or up the contrast by going pure black. 

The Cord

For the cord, I used white cotton twisted cord in 5mm width. The cotton cord gives a lovely cosy finish and can be 'fluffed up' at the ends to give the ghosts a cute fuzzy edge. I love the idea of mixing up the cord sizes and making some mini ghosts and some big chunky ones - let me know if you try this as I'd love to see what the finished product looks like! 

The exact cord I used is our 9870 Cotton Twisted Cord in 5mm White. 

The Glue

To attach the cord and rhinestones, I used Hi-Tack Fabric glue. I wanted something that dried flexible, which is why I opted for this over hot glue. I'm not a huge fan of hot glue if I'm honest, but I will admit that it makes quick work of certain projects! 

The Eyes

I'm a magpie, so I always opt for rhinestones if a project allows, but the eyes could be made from anything from beads or buttons (probably better to sew these on) to felt dots or even a dab of black sharpie. Lean into your own style here!
